Arcadia Publishing Using 100% FSC |
|
Arcadia Publishing has become the nation’s first major book publisher to achieve the use of 100% FSC-certified paper across its entire book publishing program. The South Carolina-based local and regional history publishing company is now using FSC-certified fiber — either FSC Mixed and/or FSC Recycled — in all of its titles. With this move, Arcadia has surpassed by 500% the goals set for industry standards as identified in The Book Industry Treatise on Responsible Paper Use — and almost two years ahead of schedule. The treatise, developed in 2006 by a wide range of industry stakeholders and coordinated by the Green Press Initiative, calls for the publishing industry to raise its use of FSC-certified paper to a level of 20% by 2012.
